GANGTEY TREK
This trek is to the beautiful phobji valley (3,000m), which is one of the few glacial valley in Bhutan. It lies in the eastern part of wangdiphodrang. After crossing over the pass you will reach the temple of Gangtey which was constructed in 17th century as a institute by one of the treasure discoverer of Bhutan. Below the temple we have a small hiking trail through the blue pine forest and village of phobjikha. As you continue you will reach a big ground where the black necked cranes make their winter home stay. In the mid of October the migrating rare bird migrates to Bhutan from Tibet and makes three round of the temple as a sign saying they reached safely.
